For their community initiative donation, our Albany location selected the Albany Fire Department. The Albany Fire Department is comprised of 25 trained volunteers who respond to fires, medical crises, car accidents and more. They’re on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They also partner with other local departments to respond to emergencies that require more than one team.
In addition to responding to these events, they also actively work to prevent them from happening in the future. They hold a community event promoting safety - Rural Safety Education Day. It covers a range of topics from farm safety – including a demonstration for a grain bin rescue – as well as how to handle a kitchen fire, fire extinguisher training, a demonstration of a propane tank fire, and more.
Beyond that, they’ve taken the time to visit our Albany facility to ensure they know how to access the different areas of the mill in case they ever needed to do a rescue or respond to another emergency event.
We’re very grateful for all the time and work this team puts into the safety of our team, the Albany community, and the surrounding areas!
