It's hard to believe, but it's already time for burn-down days! For those that may not know, burn-down days gives growers an opportunity to bring in a sample (usually 3-4 stalks) of corn for moisture testing. The stalks are chopped up and and loaded into an NIR (near-infrared) machine to measure their moisture. This information helps growers determine the best time to harvest their crops.
