Our Cokato location opted to split their donation between 3 organizations.
Hunger continues to be an issue in communities throughout Minnesota and the US. The Cokato Food Shelf has a goal of making the Cokato community hunger-free. They’re supported by donations from local churches, community members, and other local organizations. They are open 3 days each week, providing supplemental groceries for families in need on Friday mornings.
Agriculture has been a part of the Dassel-Cokato community for generations, and their local FFA chapter shows that legacy! They’ve been active for over 50 years! Their website showcases some fantastic images from alumni dating back to the 1950’s. Today, their chapter is very active and will be hosting an event on March 18th, 2023 – the First Annual Agstravaganza. The community is invited to play bingo, celebrate the accomplishments of the Dassel-Cokato FFA, participate in a silent auction, and enjoy a hog roast!
Just to the east of our Cokato location, the Howard Lake Waverly Winsted FFA combines kids from 4 smaller cities to form their vibrant and active chapter. Not only do they excel within the FFA community and competitions, they also look for ways to support their community. In December 2022, they sponsored Project Caring 2023 – that offered free holiday meals including ham, milk, bread, potatoes, veggies, butter and more to people in need. In January, the students in the Ag Construction class shoveled snow to make hydrants accessible.
We’re grateful for the opportunity to support these organizations which all work to make the Cokato area a better place to work and live!
