Eden Valley and Watkins are adjacent communities in central MN. Both with populations of around 1,000 people, the two towns even share a school. While the Centra Sota office is officially located in Watkins, Eden Valley is definitely still our broader community. Because of this, our Watkins location selected both the Eden Valley and the Watkins Fire Department to receive their donation.
The Eden Valley Fire Department provides fire protection and emergency response services to the Eden Valley community. Their mission is to prevent the loss of life and property. In addition to responding to fires, the Eden Valley Fire Department also responds to medical emergencies, motor vehicle accidents, rescue calls, and incidents involving hazardous materials. They’re active in their community, taking time to share what they do with local kids during a recent visit.
According to the City of Watkins website, The Watkins Community Fire Department is a group of 25 dedicated, trained, volunteer firefighters who are on-call 24/7 to protect our citizens from the dangers of fire. Their service area covers the City of Watkins, and all or parts of Forest Prairie Township in Meeker County, Luxemburg, and Maine Prairie Townships in Stearns County. The Department celebrated 100 years of service to the community in 2013. Thank you to these fantastic Fire Departments who work so diligently to keep their communities safe!
